Is your blonde turning yellow after your appointment at the hair salon?

If so, it can be for a number of reasons, and it might be time to change some things in your hair routine at home.

  • Hard water is high in minerals like calcium and magnesium, which can build up on your hair, causing it to look more yellow. You can tackle this by investing in a shower head filter, to help minimise the build up of these minerals when washing your hair at home.

  • If you opt to use a hot styling tool at home, including a hair dryer, hot brush (Including air wraps etc), straighteners and curlers, ALWAYS use heat protection. Heat protection will minimise heat damage and give your semi permanent colours (known as toners) a better chance at lasting as long as possible. You still need to be using heat protection, even if you are quickly running one of these styling tools over your hair, or even if you only use them on the odd occasion.

  • Adding moisture to your hair by introducing regularly (weekly) hair masks will help to keep your hair in the best condition, allowing you to have longer lasting colour results.

If this is a problem you experience, please do try these tips above. If you're ever unsure or need some advice, please feel welcome to book an appointment. I'll see you soon.

Over and Out,
